Paul wrote this letter to the church he had founded in the Greek city of Philippi from his imprisonment in Rome. The church had been concerned about Paul and had sent one of its members to take him a love gift. Paul sent the man back with this letter. It expresses the love of believers for one another, the joy they have in Christ, and the strength that the Lord gives for living each day. It also contains a deep and moving description of the humiliation and exaltation of Christ, declaring that one day every knee will bow to Him. This little book shows the heart of Jesus Christ expressed in the lives of those who love and follow Him. You will see the great love of God and the love of believers as well.
