View Sample Amos was an agricultural worker from the Southern Kingdom of Judah that God appointed to prophesy at a place of worship in the Northern Kingdom of Israel. God gave Amos His message, and Amos was both faithful and fearless to give it. He began by predicting judgment on the nations surrounding Israel, even including Judah. Then he focused on the sins of Israel and the judgment they deserved. Amos asked the Lord to relent, and God, in His mercy, spared Israel twice. But the people of Israel thought that they were above the judgment of God and still did not repent. Amos predicted the destruction that would come, but he ended by promising that God will restore Israel when He sets up His kingdom. The messages Amos gives show us how God is in control of every nation in the world.
